Many people just think of Yoga as flexibility training. The nine main styles of Yoga are: Bhakti, Hatha, Jnana, Karma, Kundalini, Mantra, Raja, Tantric, and Yantra Yoga.

The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit language and means "to integrate". Depending on the type of yoga you do, yoga can be an aerobic, anaerobic or stretching exercise or all three. Studies have shown that people who practice yoga share a better optimism, better awareness and alertness and even appreciation for one s surroundings.

With the increased popularity of yoga, more and more yoga studios are opening in cities and small towns everywhere. Many people, who attend Hatha classes, appreciate the relaxed feeling they get from the exercise aspects. To lengthen the life of your mat, it is best to keep it guarded and clean by always storing it in your yoga mat bag and to clean it on a regular basis.

Sometimes, work can leave us feeling spent and exhausted. Often when someone is stressed, the muscles are as well. Perhaps you will find that blood pressure problems improve, or back pain may improve or even just that you get a better nights sleep.

So get out there and help yourself and other's improve their overall fitness, strength, and flexibility. You will gain a sense of peace and tranquility.
