yoga videos - what you need to know

There are many styles of yoga, but teachers should be familiar with the nine main forms of yoga, from India, and their relationships to contemporary styles. If you're reading this, it's probably a given that you are already a yoga fan.

Yoga mats are the best for yoga beginners. Different styles emphasize varying aspects of yoga. Witness what happens to those who are bedridden and suffer all sorts of problems related to their inability to move around enough.

Those who practice regularly report increased flexibility, improved muscle tone, an overall sense of well being and a decrease in stress. You truly work your entire body when you practice yoga as you do not focus on an isolated muscle, but actively recruit the smaller muscle groups as well. It would be pointless, if your body were doing the practice while your mind were busy sorting out some other worries.

No matter how many books you read or tapes you watch, you will never get the feedback and encouragement that you will with the right teacher. Baby steps everyone .
